How much does graphic design cost in the UK? (2026 pricing guide)

UK graphic design pricing per piece in 2026: business cards, brochures, packaging, pitch decks, signage. What each piece costs and which line items don't belong in your quote.

£, per piece, no surprises

Graphic design pricing in the UK is the most opaque tier of creative work. Web design has rough benchmarks. Branding agencies publish ranges. Graphic design quotes still routinely arrive with a single line item and a five-figure number on it.

This is the per-piece breakdown for 2026, so you know what you're buying before the call.

Per-piece UK pricing for 2026

Business cards, £150–£300

A real concept-led design with two directions and a revision round, both sides, print-ready CMYK files with bleed and a colour-bar proof PDF. £150 is the floor for senior work; under £100 is template territory.

Flyers and leaflets, £200–£600

A4 / A5 flyer or trifold leaflet, original layout, typesetting, photo placement. £200 for a single-sided, £400–£600 for double-sided trifold with proper hierarchy. Print-ready files included.

Brochures, £450–£1,200

8–24 page brochure, fully designed cover-to-cover, original layout per spread, type system applied consistently, photography placed and toned. The price scales with page count, not just complexity, most brochures sit at £450–£800 for 8 pages, £900–£1,200 for 16–24.

Posters and large-format signage, £200–£800

A2/A1/A0 posters, banner stands, exhibition graphics. The bigger range reflects production complexity, a single A2 poster is £200–£300; a coordinated set of pop-ups, retractables and wall graphics for a stand is £600–£800.

Menus, £250–£450

Menu design for a restaurant or cafe, 1–2 spreads, full type system applied, photography placed, print-ready in the right format for the printer's machine. Reprint-friendly so seasonal updates don't need a re-design.

Pitch decks, £50–£100 per slide

The most-misquoted line item in graphic design. £50 per slide for a clean template-led deck, up to £100 per slide for fully custom data visualisations and brand-led illustration. A 15-slide investor deck sits at £750–£1,500. Editable templates included so your team can iterate.

Packaging, £550–£1,500+ per SKU

Single-product packaging (label, box, sleeve), original concept, dieline-aware design, print-production-ready files in the right colour space for the printer (CMYK, Pantone spot, sometimes both). Multi-SKU runs are quoted per-job because the design overhead amortises.

Social ad templates, £350–£550 per pack

10 templates for Instagram + Facebook in matching aesthetic, editable in Figma or Canva so your team produces variations without re-engaging us. Better value per asset than commissioning each post fresh.

What inflates a graphic design quote, and shouldn't

Three line items show up in quotes that almost never need to be there for a small-business brief:

  • "Print management" at £200–£500, sending the file to a printer is 15 minutes of work.
  • "Typesetting" as a separate line, typesetting is graphic design. It's not an add-on.
  • "Source files" at £150–£300 each, we include source files by default; charging for them is a soft lock-in.

If your quote has any of these, ask the agency to drop them, most will.

Where small-agency pricing beats both extremes

Freelancer pricing usually undershoots: £80 business cards, £150 brochures. The work shows it, template-led, no concept process, files that fail at the printer. London-agency pricing overshoots: £700 business cards, £3,000 brochures. The work is good but you're paying for office rent and a project manager between you and the designer.

The £150–£800 small-studio range covers the same brief as a £3,000 agency quote without the markup. Our graphic design pricing sits there: Single piece from £150, Multi-asset from £350, Specialist from £550.

File-format checklist before you accept any graphic-design delivery

  • CMYK colour mode for print, RGB for screen, both delivered, not just one
  • 3mm bleed standard, 5mm for large format
  • 300 dpi raster, vector wherever possible
  • Fonts outlined or supplied with licences
  • Colour-bar proof PDF for the printer to match against
  • Source file (Figma, Illustrator, InDesign) included for future edits

If any of these are missing the file isn't done. Reject it before you pay the final invoice.
