Web Design & Development
in Edinburgh.
Hand-built on Astro, Next.js or a headless CMS. The kind of site Google rewards and your team can actually edit. No templates, no page builders, no plugin salad.
How we work with
Edinburgh businesses.
Edinburgh clients split cleanly between finance (Charlotte Square wealth managers, fintech on George Street, asset managers in the New Town) and Fringe-season hospitality and tourism, two entirely different design vocabularies that need different brand registers. We run both playbooks from the same studio, regulated-finance work gets WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility, FCA-aware copy, and zero dark patterns; hospitality work gets fast booking flows, real photography of the venue, and Stripe wired to handle peak August traffic without falling over. UK phone number, GDPR-compliant, serving UK businesses since 2018, kickoffs and reviews on Google Meet, async on Slack between calls.
Edinburgh web-design clients usually need one of two builds: an FCA-aware regulated-finance site (WCAG 2.1 AA, plain-English risk disclosures, compliance-reviewed content workflow) or a Fringe-season hospitality site (load-tested booking flow, real venue photography, Stripe wired for the August spike). Same studio, different playbook per brief.
We build web design & development for founders and marketing leads in Edinburgh who want senior attention without the big-agency bill. Fixed scope, fixed price, written proposal before any commitment. Same team, same process, same 14-day-payout quality standard whether you're in Edinburgh or anywhere else we ship.

Common questions.
Do you build for regulated-finance Edinburgh clients (FCA-authorised, wealth, fintech)?
Yes, WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility, plain-English regulatory copy, clear risk disclosures next to CTAs, no dark patterns, and a content model that lets compliance review changes before they go live.
Can you handle Fringe-season traffic for Edinburgh hospitality clients?
Yes, the August traffic spike is the make-or-break window for most Edinburgh hospitality businesses. We pre-warm the CDN, load-test the booking flow at 10× normal volume, and configure Stripe + Cloudflare to handle the queue. Sites built for this stay up; sites bolted together on Wix don't.
How fast can you start an Edinburgh project?
Typically 2–3 weeks out from signed proposal. For Edinburgh clients with a Fringe deadline (sites that need to be live by mid-July) we hold one fast-start slot a year specifically for that window, flag the deadline early and we'll tell you honestly whether the timeline is workable.
How much does a website cost in the UK in 2026?
Realistic UK 2026 ranges for a small-business marketing site: £1,500–£3,500 for a one-page Landing build, £4,000–£12,000 for a 5–10 page Marketing site with a CMS, £12,000–£40,000 for custom apps or commerce platforms. Anything below £1,500 is usually a Wix/Squarespace template with a freelancer hourly tacked on; anything above £40,000 for a marketing site is usually paying for an agency's office rent. Our packages sit in the honest middle · £3,500 / £6,500 / £12k+ · with the scope written into the proposal so you know exactly what you're buying.
Astro vs WordPress for a UK small business · which should we pick?
WordPress if you need a 200-plugin marketplace and don't mind the security and performance cost; Astro if you want a fast site that ranks well, loads in <1s on 3G, and your team can edit through a clean CMS without breaking it. For most UK SMEs we ship Astro by default · the Lighthouse 95+ score cuts ad costs (lower CPC because of better landing-page experience scores) and the lack of plugin sprawl means fewer 2 a.m. "the site is down" calls. Migration from WordPress is a standard part of the brief.
Are you GDPR-compliant for UK clients?
Yes · GDPR-compliant by default. No third-party analytics that fingerprint visitors without consent (we run Plausible or self-hosted analytics), transparent cookie policy with granular consent, data-processing addendums where your DPO needs them, and EU/UK-resident hosting on Cloudflare or Vercel's London edge. We've shipped sites that passed UK legal, insurance and asset-management DPO reviews with zero findings.
What stack do you build in?
Astro for marketing sites, Next.js for apps, Shopify for commerce, WordPress if you genuinely need it. We recommend the stack that fits your team, not ours.
Do you design first, or jump into code?
Always design first. You approve Figma designs, fully interactive, mobile-first, before we write a line of code.
What about hosting?
We deploy to Vercel, Netlify or Cloudflare by default. You own the account. No vendor lock-in to us.
Can you take over an existing site?
Often yes. We'll audit it on the discovery call and tell you honestly whether a rebuild or a refresh makes more sense.
How do you handle SEO?
Technical SEO is in every build: clean HTML, schema, sitemaps, fast LCP, proper meta tags. That gets you found. Content SEO (writing the articles that rank) is a separate retainer · Starter £599/mo, Growth £999/mo, Full £1,800/mo · covered there because it lives next to the content calendar.
Can you work with our existing brand guidelines?
Yes. Send us the brand guidelines in the brief and we design within them. Figma handoff welcome.
Do you guarantee Lighthouse 95+?
Yes, on Marketing and Platform packages. Landing pages target 90+. We test on real devices and real connections · not just lab benchmarks.
What if we need changes after launch?
Every package includes post-launch support · 30 days on Landing, 60 on Marketing. After that, move to a Care Plan retainer (Basic £149/mo, Standard £249/mo, Priority £449/mo) or quote per hour at £85/hr UK, $110/hr USD, LKR 7,500/hr LK.
Do you offer faster turnaround packages for founders?
Yes. Our MVP Web package ships a focused homepage + contact page in 10–14 days for £1,800 / $2,300 / LKR 155,000. MVP Brand (logo + colours) is £850 / $1,080 / LKR 73,000 in 5–7 days. The MVP Launch Bundle pairs both for £2,400 / $3,060 / LKR 207,000. For technical founders, an MVP SaaS Landing Page with waitlist integration is £2,200 / $2,800 / LKR 190,000 in 2 weeks.
Do you have add-ons for packages?
Yes, billed separately · extra page templates (£350), copywriting per page (£150), e-commerce via WooCommerce up to 50 products (£2,200) or Shopify (£1,800), multilingual site per additional language (£800), custom animation layers (£600+), standalone SEO audit at launch (£350). Discussed on the call, priced on the proposal.
